The 2021 edition of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition is a history-making one for sure. There are three cover models: tennis superstar Naomi Osaka, model Leyna Bloom and rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
Taking to Twitter this morning, Megan Thee Stallion virtually jumped for joy after seeing her SI Swimsuit feature. She noted that with her appearance on the cover, she is the first rapper to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition.
“When Hottie boot camp pays off 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Time to get back to it 👏🏽 WE THEE FIRST RAPPER ON THE COVER OF SPORTS ILLUSTRATED SWIM HOTTIES 😛😛😛,” she tweeted along with photos of her shoot.
Megan Thee Stallion’s massive audience is almost as happy as she is. In less than two hours her post has over 50,000 likes and 11,000 retweets.

Megan Jovon Ruth Pete was born in Texas in 1995 and began writing raps at age 16. While attending Prairie View A&M University, she began uploading her music to social media, and quickly built a massive following. She released her first single in 2016 and her first album a few years later.
Megan Thee Stallion has nearly a dozen platinum certified releases and over two dozen awards, including three Grammys.
Outside of her music career, Megan is active in social activism, philanthropy and – of course – social media.
Congratulations on the historic day, Megan!
