As of right now, all signs point toward Deshaun Watson being an Atlanta Falcon in 2022.

Longtime Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was supposed to receive a $7.5 million roster bonus on Friday, but that payment has since been pushed to next Tuesday.

Many fans and analysts around the league believe this was a move to bide time for an impending Deshaun Watson trade as Ryan now has a few extra days to vet any potential trade destinations.

"Regarding Matt Ryan, I’m buying the theory that his agreeing to postpone the bonus payment suggests a confidence that a trade is coming. And that HAS to mean Atlanta is confident about landing Deshaun Watson," NFL insider Stephen Holder of The Athletic wrote on Twitter.

With this contract move, the Falcons organization has shown a clear belief that they're firmly in the running to land Watson -- even if that means upsetting their quarterback of 14 years. The team has reportedly informed Ryan that they are in fact pursuing the 26-year-old Texans quarterback.

Ryan's contract will be tough to trade, but the Indianapolis Colts (who are in dire need of a QB) are widely considered the top landing spot for the veteran signal caller.
