While this upcoming season of college football won't undergo any major chances, the following season will have a new bowl game that will take place at Fenway Park.

In an effort to diversify the venues that hold postseason matchups, the NCAA is adding a series between the Atlantic Coast and American Athletic conferences.

As a whole, the landscape of college football will have three new bowl games in the near future. Fenway Park, Los Angeles and Myrtle Beach will be the hosts of these showdowns.

This means that 65 percent of college football programs will have the privilege of playing in a bowl game.

College football insider Brett McMurphy is reporting that Fenway Park will start hosting this series in 2020.

Even though Fenway Park might not have the proper structure to consistently host football games, it is widely considered as one of the most historic stadiums in the country.

It makes sense for college football to play bowl games at Fenway Park, especially since it has the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium.

The addition of Fenway Park to the postseason schedule will give ACC teams the chance to play at the home stadiums of the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees.
