The United States women's national team is about an hour away from playing its second game in the 2019 World Cup. The Americans are set to take on Chile.
Alex Morgan, who poured in five goals in the opener against Thailand, is not starting in this afternoon's game. Neither is Megan Rapinoe.
Here's the official Starting 11: Naeher; Krieger, Sauerbrunn, Dahlkemper, Davidson; Ertz, Brian, Horan; Pugh, Lloyd, Press.
Morgan is on the bench to start the contest, alongside Rapinoe.
The bench: Morgan, Rapinoe, Heath, Mewis, Lavelle, Dunn, O'Hara, Sonnett, Long, McDonald, Harris, Franch.
The United States are a sizable favorite against Chile, so perhaps the Americans are just trying to spread things out over the first two games of the tournament.
USA topped Thailand, 13-0, in its opening game.
Chile is actually ranked lower than Thailand in the world rankings.
In total, the Americans made seven lineup changes ahead of this afternoon's game.
Morgan and Rapinoe both made headlines for their standout play in the opener against Thailand. They made headlines for their celebrating, too.
“I think just in general for us — obviously we have the utmost respect for all of the opponents we play and will continue to do so forever and ever. I feel like we were pent up. … That sort of explosion of joy was very genuine for us. Honestly, I think we needed it," Rapinoe said.
More goals are likely coming today.
USA and Chile are set to kick off at noon E.T. on FOX.
