Andrew Luck shockingly announced his retirement from the NFL on Saturday night following the Indianapolis Colts' preseason game. Luck made his announcement with his wife, Nicole, sitting a couple of feet away.

The 29-year-old quarterback is calling it a career after seven seasons. Luck battled through several injuries and simply had enough.

Andrew and Nicole were married earlier this offseason and are ready to start their post-NFL life together.

The couple revealed they plan on staying in Indianapolis.

Luck, who's earned tens of millions of dollars during his career, called the decision the toughest of his life. "I've been stuck in this process," Luck said. "I haven't been able to live the life I want to live. It's taken the joy out of this game ... the only way forward for me is to remove myself from football. "This is not an easy decision. It's the hardest decision of my life. But it is the right decision for me.''

The Colts, meanwhile, are set to open the 2019 regular season with Jacoby Brissett at quarterback. Indianapolis opens the year against the Chargers.
