Antonio Brown hasn't played in the NFL in almost two months, as the All-Pro wide receiver was released by the New England Patriots in early September. The former Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers wideout spent just one week in New England.

Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for the star wide receiver, has maintained that he believes Brown will play in the NFL again this season.

"I do expect Antonio to play again this season," agent Drew Rosenhaus said on CNBC's Squawk Alley. "Hopefully we will get the NFL investigation behind him in the near future and he can sign with a new team."

Brown, who is being investigated for allegations of sexual misconduct, including rape, has denied the allegations against him.

However, it looks like Brown might not agree with his agent. He hinted at a 2020 return to the NFL today.

It's unlikely that an NFL team will sign Brown until the league's investigation into these allegations is concluded. It's quite possible that won't happen until after the season.

Rosenhaus has stated that there are teams interested in signing his client.

"I've said there is interest in him from teams that are looking for the investigation to conclude and I fully expect Antonio to be playing this season," Rosenhaus said.

Brown had four catches for 56 yards and one touchdown in his lone game with the Patriots.
