The recruitment of 2023 five-star quarterback Arch Manning continues to fascinate the college football world.
Arch Manning, the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, is the top recruit in the country for the 2023 class. 247Sports’ Composite Rankings have the five-star quarterback as the No. 1 player in the nation. It’s not difficult to understand why.
Almost every major program in the country is after Arch Manning. The 2023 recruit visited several major programs this summer.
Right now, a couple of different schools are seen as the frontrunners. On his 247Sports recruiting profile, six schools stand out as the favorites:
- Ole Miss
Texas has probably been mentioned the most for Manning. The Longhorns are led by first-year head coach Steve Sarkisian.
Manning visited Texas earlier this summer in a visit that was dubbed a “home run” by one recruiting analyst.
“I think they hit a home run, I think they are squarely in the mix for Arch Manning,” Josh Pate said of Texas, via 247Sports. “But eventually, they’re going to have to have something tangible. Because there’s going to be too much tangible result to be seen from Alabama and the likes of Clemson. Texas has got to get it done. They have to show you something in weeks one and two because if you are to come out of summer on this massive recruiting hype wave and then you start to show product on the field earlier than anyone expected, that starts a snowball effect. That’s how you really start to take off in recruiting even in year one under a new staff and that’s how incredible things can happen.”
