Austin Rivers is no longer out of work. The 26-year-old free agent has been signed by the Houston Rockets.

The Rockets had been linked to Rivers after he was waived by the Phoenix Suns on December 18. He was traded to Phoenix by the Washington Wizards along with Kelly Oubre one day earlier in exchange for Trevor Ariza.

Now that he's with Houston, Rivers should see immediate playing time. The Rockets are currently without point guard Chris Paul, who injured his hamstring last week.

Of course, Paul and Rivers have a bit of a checkered history together, so it will be interesting to see how they work out as teammates.

Houston will be the fourth NBA team for Rivers, the No. 10 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.

Prior to getting traded, Rivers was averaging 7.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in a reserve role for the Wizards.

Last season, he set career highs in points, rebounds and assists per game with the Los Angeles Clippers.
