Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield caused quite a stir on social media on Tuesday when GQ’s profile on the Oklahoma legend was released.
The profile includes a comment from Mayfield on the New York Giants’ selection of Daniel Jones. Mayfield found the draft pick shocking.
Cleveland’s QB has since called the comments misleading and taken out of context. He’s reached out to Jones to clarify his point.
Mayfield revealed today that Jones took things well.
“He was cordial, said ‘no worries, man.’ I know Saquon (Barkley) and Sterling (Shepard) and a couple of guys over (in New York). I think that’s the good thing about having people around the league that you know,” Mayfield told reporters. “When it comes down to it, I’ve worked with some people and they know how I am inside the building and who I am as a person.”

Unfortunately, we don’t get a Browns-Giants game in 2019 (barring a shocking Super Bowl matchup).
We do look forward to some future Baker Mayfield-Daniel Jones matchups, though.
