Baker Mayfield doesn't hesitate to give his opinion and the Cleveland Browns star quarterback shared a blunt one when asked about Duke Johnson's trade request earlier this year.

“It’s self-inflicted. It is what it is. It’s not awkward for anyone else in this building,” Mayfield told reporters when asked about Johnson’s trade request. “He’s gotta do his job. He said he was a professional. I hope he does his job.”

Mayfield added: "“You’re either on this train or you’re not.”

Johnson, 25, has seen his role in Cleveland decrease in recent seasons. He's one of the more-versatile backs in the league and the Browns have no plans to trade him. Johnson continues to want out.

Mayfield's comments didn't sit well with some in the media and, apparently, a couple of his Browns teammates weren't fans, either.

NFL Network's Michael Silver reported today that several Browns players approached Mayfield in the locker room.

"According to multiple sources, several veteran Browns players approached Baker Mayfield in the locker room after the young QB's critical comments about RB Duke Johnson to register their displeasure, and they hashed out their differences," he reports.

Mayfield, 24, is entering his second season in the NFL and the spotlight is only going to get bigger. This surely won't be the last time one of Mayfield's comments gets raked over.

Cleveland, with the trade for Odell Beckham Jr., enters the 2019 season as one of the most-hyped teams in the league.
