Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons has fired back at Brooklyn Nets forward Jared Dudley ahead of Game 3 of their first round playoff series.

Earlier in the week, Dudley had a brutally honest quote about Simmons and his halfcourt game.

“Ben Simmons is a great player in transition. And once you get him into halfcourt, he’s average,” he told reporters.

Dudley wasn't really wrong with his assessment there. Simmons' unwillingness to shoot the basketball has hampered his ability to be successful in the halfcourt - at times, anyway. Still, Simmons doesn't seem to be happy about Dudley's comments. The Sixers' star fired back at the veteran Nets forward this morning. “It’s coming from Jared Dudley, come on," he said.

OK then.

Game 3 of the Sixers-Nets series is set to tip off at 8 p.m. E.T. this evening. The game will be televised on TNT.
