It's not very common for Bill Belichick to dish out compliments to other players. And yet, that's exactly what happened when he was asked about DeAndre Hopkins.
This weekend the New England Patriots are on the road to face the Houston Texans. The game will be part of NBC's Sunday Night Football broadcast.
New England has faced a plethora of talented wideouts this year, which includes Amari Cooper and JuJu Smith-Schuster. Nonetheless, it appears neither of those players impress Belichick as much as Hopkins does.
Belichick went as far as to say "You put NFL receiver in the dictionary, his picture is next to it."
That's high praise from arguably the greatest coach in NFL history.
Hopkins will have his hands full on Sunday since he'll most likely be matched up one-on-one with shutdown cornerback Stephon Gilmore.
Last week, Hopkins torched the Indianapolis Colts for 94 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His chemistry with Deshaun Watson continues to grow by the week.
Not many wide receivers have found success against Gilmore this season, but it wouldn't be much of a surprise if Hopkins wins a few of their battles.
After all, Belichick seems to believe that Hopkins is among the elite wideouts in the league.
