Earlier this week, the Athletic published their annual players poll, which asks baseball players to share their hot takes. The site said it spoke with nearly one-third of all MLB players for this year's poll.

In the process of asking questions, the best and most interesting question revolved around the league's most-overrated players.

According to the poll, it's not even close.

Bryce Harper was the overwhelming favorite. According to the poll of MLB players, 62-percent answered Harper as the most-overrated player in the league.

The next closest player came in with just 4.1-percent of the vote - Toronto Blue jays pitcher Marcus Stroman took home the honor of the second most-overrated player.

Other players who received votes were Giancarlo Stanton, Jason Heyward and Manny Machado.

It just so happens that Harper, Stanton and Machado have three of the biggest contracts in MLB history. Perhaps payers are jealous of the monster contracts given out to these MLB stars.

After putting together one of the most-dominant seasons in league history en route to league MVP honors, Harper has fallen off over the past few years.

However, after signing a 13-year, $330 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies, he'll get a fresh start with a new team.
