Cam Newton is currently sidelined with a foot injury. The Carolina Panthers quarterback missed his team's Week 3 game and he isn't playing this weekend.

Kyle Allen has taken over starting quarterback duties in Newton's absence. He led the team to their first win of the season in Week 3 against Arizona.

Newton, meanwhile, took to Instagram this evening to issue a new message.

"I really appreciate the love, support and well wishes," Newton wrote. "But ummm, I'm hurt not dead."

"And 'FYI' I will support the Panthers and Kyle Allen the best I know how while I'm out - win (which I'm expecting), lose or draw."

Newton is reportedly dealing with a Lisfranc injury in his foot, suffered in Week 2. That can often be a season-ending injury, though Newton reportedly will not miss that much time.

The Panthers (1-2) are set to play in Houston on Sunday.
