Former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Cardale Jones is still hoping for another opportunity in professional football.

Jones, who led Ohio State to a national championship during the 2014 season, played in the NFL for a couple of seasons. He also spent time in the XFL.

The ex-Buckeyes star has since gotten involved in other areas, co-launching THE Foundation, which will help Ohio State student athletes land name, image and likeness deals.

However, Jones still has eyes on pro football.

“Still out there looking for a shot, and I thought this was a great opportunity,” Jones said after Wednesday’s pro day at Ohio State. “Hopefully this opens up other opportunities for me to come into one of these organizations and have a workout or battle for a spot in camp.”

Jones threw passes for Ohio State wide receivers at the school's pro day on Wednesday. He still has a great arm.

Jones could get an opportunity in the NFL or another pro league moving forward, especially if we have injuries at the position. There are always teams looking for depth.

Jones, 29, last played in the NFL in 2019, when he was part of the practice squad in Seattle. He was a fourth round pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2016.

The ex-Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback has six career completions for 96 yards.
