"The Arizona Cardinals will be picking up QB Kyler Murray's fifth-year contract by the May 2 deadline, which guarantees him a salary of around $28 million," McManaman tweeted. Adding, "Both sides are expected to eventually agree to a reworked deal at some point this summer."
The NFL world reacted to the team's plan to picking up the two-time Pro Bowl QB's option on social media.

"Cards keep coach and GM but get no new players. Now they extend the contract of they whiny QB. What a mess."

"Big news," commented Cardinals writer Blake Murphy.
