Tonight’s Baltimore Orioles vs. New York Yankees game featured arguably the play of the year in center field.
In the top of the first inning, Orioles All-Star outfielder Cedric Mullins made an absolutely insane catch to rob Yankees hitter Gary Sanchez of a home run.
It’s one of the best home-run robberies in recent MLB history, to say the least.

MLB fans are rightfully going crazy over the play:
“Orioles star Cedric Mullins with maybe the home run robbery of the year as he takes one away from Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez,” Jomboy Media tweeted.
“Tired: maybe Vlad should be MVP. Wired: maybe Cedric Mullins should be MVP,” Mike Petriello tweeted.
“Cedric Mullins just made the best catch I’ve ever seen in person,” Britt Ghiroli added.
It’s been another long year for the Orioles, but Mullins is one of the lone bright spots for the rebuilding American League East franchise.
Baltimore and New York are currently tied, 0-0, in the second inning.
