The Boston Celtics took a commanding 3-0 lead Saturday behind 39 big points from forward Jayson Tatum.

The C's once again put forward a great defensive effort, holding both Nets stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving under 20 points for the game.

Now the Celtics are on the verge of sweeping Brooklyn, the team Kyrie Irving bolted Beantown for. NBA Twitter held court after the buzzer sounded. "Three years later, the Celtics and Warriors are going to make it further in the playoffs than Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant," tweeted Monday Morning Quarterback's Albert Breer. "Tough scene for the loyal Nets fan base."

"The Boston Celtics are a game away from a sweep over Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets," noted Jeff Goodman.

"Three months ago, the Nets were the 7/2 favorite to win the NBA title at BetMGM," said Darren Rovell. "The Celtics were 100/1. Celtics 3, Nets 0."

"KD and Kyrie in the Nets locker room after the [Celtics] went up 3-0," Josiah Johnson captioned a clip.

"It’s about to be a sweep," commented Emmanuel Acho. "No gentleman, chivalry is dead!!!"

"Nets: getting completely outclassed by the Celtics. Ben Simmons:"

"The [Celtics] have outscored, outrebounded and outassisted the Nets this series," tweeted StatMuse. "Completely outplayed."

"Ben Simmons watching the Nets struggle vs the Celtics."

The Nets' backs are completely against the wall now. It's going to take a Herculean effort from Brooklyn's duo to get back in this one.
