When Chris Paul went down with an injury earlier this season, the initial timeline had him returning on Apr. 3, at the earliest. However, per the latest report the Phoenix Suns point guard could be returning even sooner.

Per NBA writer Sam Amick, Chris Paul could return to the Suns' lineup as soon as this week.

Some sources close to the situation wouldn’t even rule out his return for Wednesday’s game at Minnesota, @sam_amick writes.

The latest Chris Paul update has the NBA world talking:

"Too soon i feel like. Bring him back a couple games before playoffs to get in his rhythm," one fan wrote.

"we need to just rest him til the playoffs I don’t really see the point," a fan tweeted.

Some are questioning why the Suns are brining Chris Paul back now. There's far less risk to bring him back closer to the playoffs compared to this week.

"I really hope he waits till the start of the playoffs to come back. He's had way too many late season/playoff injuries to risk it while the Sun's are still up 9 games in the standings for 1st."

The Suns are currently the No. 1 team in the Western Conference standings. They have a nine-game lead over the second-place Memphis Grizzlies.

With Paul back in the lineup, potentially this week, Phoenix will be as dangerous as ever.
