Duke was without its star freshman, Zion Williamson, during Saturday night's win at Syracuse. It looks like the Blue Devils will be without the five-star freshman for a little while longer, too.

Head coach Mike Krzyzewski announced this afternoon that Williamson, who suffered a knee injury in the loss to North Carolina last week, will not be playing at Virginia Tech on Tuesday night.

Duke is set to take on Virginia Tech at 7 p.m. E.T. on Tuesday.

Coach K had said after Duke's win over Virginia Tech that the Blue Devils would not be playing Williamson until he was completely ready to get back on the court.

The potential No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft isn't planning on sitting out the rest of the season like some have suggested, though.

"We would never play a kid who's not ready," Krzyzewski said on Saturday. "We would never play a youngster who didn't want to play. It's not about that. He wants to play. He loves being at Duke.

“He doesn't like being injured. It's an injury you can get over in a shorter period of time. There's just a protocol that we have to go through to make sure he's completely ready.”

Duke and Virginia Tech, meanwhile, are set to tip off at 7 p.m. E.T. on Tuesday.

The game will be on ESPN.
