“Rice Football shuts out an undefeated ranked Marshall team. First win over a ranked team for Rice since a 27-14 win over #21 BYU in 1997,” Reddit CFB tweeted. “Rice’s win over Marshall may be the first time in college football history that a 1-win team has shut out a ranked team in the month of December.”
“Rice finishes off No. 21 Marshall, 20-0. That’s Marshall’s first loss of the season, dropping them to 7-1. Most impressive part for Rice is that it did it without starting QB Mike Collins. Back-up JoVoni Johnson led Rice to the win,” Yahoo! Sports insider Pete Thamel tweeted.
Well done, Rice.
