Frightening news struck the sports world this afternoon as Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife, Amy, were reportedly involved in a plane crash in Tennessee.
It turns out that the private jet ran off the end of the runway and caught fire. The first report indicated that the former NASCAR star and his wife avoided any serious injuries from the crash.
Earnhardt’s sister, Kelley Earnhardt, went on social media to update everyone on the status of her brother and sister-in-law. She revealed that her niece, Isla Rose, was also on board.
Thankfully, it appears all parties involved in the crash are safe at this time.
“I can confirm Dale, Amy and Isla along with his two pilots were involved in a crash in Bristol TN this afternoon,” Kelley wrote in her tweet. “Everyone is safe and has been taken to the hospital for further evaluation. We have no further information at this time. Thank you for your understanding.”

Hopefully the evaluations at the hospital confirm that all passengers on the plane are safe from any medical trouble.
It was an incredibly scary scene in Tennessee.
