Deion Sanders will not hesitate to stand up for his players at Jackson State or other players attending HBCUs.
Earlier this week, the former NFL star turned college football head coach called out the individual teams who didn't attend his school's pro day.
“ teams. Twenty. [Two]. Teams. Came to witness our kids yesterday in its entirety and I appreciate you,” Sanders said on social media. “But, there’s 32 teams in this Crayola box.
“Therefore, the Dolphins, the Broncos, the Texans, the Bills, the Buccaneers, the Ravens, the Panthers, the Browns, the Vikings and the Eagles… where art thou?” Coach Prime asked. “You could’ve sent somebody man, you could’ve shown up just a little bit.”
NFL fans appreciate the honesty.
"Prime just that fly dude that you just wanna kick it with, even in 2022. And you know what? I’m not even mad that he called out the Broncos for not showin’ up to Pro Day. He can get away w/ it because he’s Prime, and one of the few who can," one fan tweeted.
"Called out every team one by one. Gotta love Prime," one fan added.
"Prime wasn’t wrong, those kids work their tails off just like the kids at the bigger schools hell sometimes harder and these teams couldn’t at least send a scout?" another fan added.
With Sanders at Jackson State, hopefully we'll see more of a focus on players at HBCUs moving forward.
