Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL and the former Texas Tech star is passing at a level we've never really seen before.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is on pace to throw for more than 6,000 yards this season. The NFL's 2018 MVP is the clear frontrunner for the 2019 award, too.

Mahomes is still on his rookie contract, but a new one could be coming this offseason.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reports that Mahomes could sign a deal in excess of $200 million this offseason, by far the biggest deal in NFL history.

There is likely no one in sports better positioned for a huge contract right now than Mahomes, who should dominate the NFL for the next decade-plus.

Mahomes and the Chiefs (3-0) are set to play at Detroit on Sunday.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. E.T. on FOX.
