ESPN’s Dick Vitale usually just sticks to college basketball analysis on his Twitter feed, but Thursday, he decided to weigh in on a major storyline from another sport. Vitale commented on where he stands on the Colin Kaepernick debate.
Vitale, in response to Kaepernick’s tweet on Wednesday that essentially communicated that he’s still “ready” for a team to take a chance on him, said that it’s time for the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback to get another shot.
Vitale tweeted “enough already” in regards to whether an NFL team should give Kaepernick a job.
The tweet was met with both praise and anger – as you’d expect. Vitale probably knew that would be the case before he sent it out.

Kaepernick, as we all know, has not played in the NFL since 2016 after he decided to start kneeling for the national anthem to protest racial discrimination in the United States. He settled a collusion lawsuit with the NFL earlier this year.
Vitale has been a college basketball analyst with the Worldwide Leader since 1979.
It remains to be seen whether any NFL team will see Kaepernick tweet and decide to give him a tryout. So far, there don’t appear to be any takers.
