Veteran pass rusher Melvin Ingram is reportedly taking a free-agent visit with the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday, per NFL Network

Interesting free agent visit for the #Dolphins: Former #Chiefs pass-rusher Melvin Ingram is visiting today, per me and @TomPelissero. He came on strong last year in KC, now a potential addition in Miami.

">insider Ian Rapoport. Starting the year in Pittsburgh and joining the Chiefs midway through the 2021 season, Ingram logged 25 tackles, 11 QB hits and 2.0 sacks through 15 games -- a bounce-back year after failing to notch a single sack through seven games with the Chargers in 2020. With this upward trajectory for the three-time Pro Bowler, he could be an enticing addition for the Miami defense.

The Dolphins have already made waves this offseason with the acquisition of superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Now is their chance to do so on the defensive side of the ball.

Miami's current defensive-end depth chart consists of Emmanuel Ogbah -- who re-signed with the team on a four-year deal earlier this offseason -- and former No. 13 overall pick Christian Wilkins.

If the Dolphins can land Ingram in free agency this offseason, they should have a pretty formidable pass rush heading into the 2022 season.
