Before the 2018-19 NBA season kicked off, Kevin Durant signed a two-year extension to remain with the Golden State Warriors. However, the contract offers Durant the ability to opt out of the deal following this season.
Most around the NBA expect Durant to opt out and sign a bigger deal - whether with the Warriors or a different team. So, where could he go?
Well, ESPN's panel of NBA analysts gave their predictions for where Durant will play come the 2019-20 season. According to ESPN's experts, the Warriors will be down at least on star next season.
The New York Knicks are the favorites to land Durant - according to ESPN.
1. New York Knicks
2. Golden State Warriors
3. Los Angeles Lakers
ESPN's panels suggests the Knicks will finally land an elite player in free agency.
Although Durant continues to distance himself from free agency rumors, those rumors will grow louder heading down the final half of this season.
"I have nothing to do with the Knicks," Durant said earlier this month. "I don't know who traded Porzingis. They got nothing to do with me."
If the Warriors claim another title, Durant could use that as an opportunity to walk away from the team a winner.
