ESPN Releases Prediction For Tonight's Lions-Patriots Game

Tonight's Lions-Patriots NFL Sunday Night Football matchup should be an interesting one. It will be teacher vs. pupil.

Detroit's first-year head coach Matt Patricia worked as the defensive coordinator under Bill Belichick in New England for a while. He left this off-season to take over the Lions.

Through two weeks, Patricia's tenure has not been good. His team is 0-2 after being blown out at home by the New York Jets in Week 1 and losing on the road last week in San Francisco.

The Patriots, meanwhile, are 1-1 after losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. New England beat the Houston Texans in the season-opener.

Who wins tonight? Well, the Patriots are favored in Vegas and by ESPN's FPI.

The computer likes New England.

New England vs. Detroit score prediction.

The Patriots are usually excellent coming off losses and Belichick is especially tough on his former assistants. It could be a rough night for Patricia.

Kickoff for Lions-Patriots is set for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
