The second round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament starts today and the second game of the day is one of the most-enticing contests of the entire tournament.
Kentucky, the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region, is set to take on No. 7 seed Wofford with a spot in the Sweet 16 on the line.
The Wildcats are coming off a blowout win over Abilene Christian, though they’re expected to be without star forward P.J. Washington.
Wofford, meanwhile, is arguably the best-shooting team in the entire tournament, coming off a win over No. 10 seed Seton Hall.
ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale thinks Kentucky fans are pretty nervous.
“People in Lexington are buying (up all) the Maalox, they’re a nervous wreck. They’re scared about Wofford,” Vitale said on SportsCenter, per 247Sports. “Wofford shoots 42 percent from 3. They’ve got four guys who shoot it better than 45 percent. Fletcher Magee, all he’s done, are you ready for this, all-time NCAA record holder. He made seven against my alma-mater Seton Hall.
“Without (P.J.) Washington dominating on the inside, this could be a big time struggle for Kentucky. They’re going to be chewing. They’re nervous.”
Kentucky and Wofford are set to tip off at 2:40 p.m. E.T.
The game will be on CBS.
