ESPN NBA analyst Jalen Rose has updated his free agency prediction for Kevin Durant, who is set to hit the open market when free agency begins on Sunday night.
Durant's free agency is expected to be highly competitive, despite the All-Star forward likely being sidelined for all of 2019-20 with a torn Achilles.
The Golden State Warriors star has been linked to the New York Knicks, though one of his teammates, Andre Iguodala, said "nobody" is coming to the Knicks on Monday.
Rose had been predicting that Durant would sign in New York. He's not changing his mind.
The NBA analyst still thinks Durant is coming to New York and it'll be for the Knicks, not the Brooklyn Nets.
“You don’t leave the Golden State Warriors and then go to the B-team in the New York market,” Rose said. “It just doesn’t make sense to me.”
Durant has been rumored to have interest in teaming up with Kyrie Irving, who is being strongly linked to the Brooklyn Nets.
The Golden State Warriors are likely in serious contention for Durant, too.
Durant might choose to sign with Golden State and do his year of rehab with the franchise he's most comfortable with. Then, the two-time NBA champion could address his future in the summer of 2020.
We'll find out everything soon. NBA free agency is set to begin on Sunday night.
