Doug Pederson kind of guaranteed a win over the Dallas Cowboys heading into Sunday night's pivotal NFC East contest. The guarantee didn't come through.
The Cowboys blew out the Eagles, 37-10, to take sole possession of first place in the division.
Pederson had said coming into the game that his team was going to go down to Dallas, get a win and take control of the NFC East.
“We’re going down to Dallas and our guys are gonna be ready to play...and we’re gonna win that football game, and when we do, we’re in first place in the NFC East,’’ Pederson said.
Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott was asked about Pederson's comments following his team's win. His response was blunt.
“Honestly, we don’t give a f--k what Doug Pederson says," Elliott told reporters.
Elliott had a big night against Philadelphia, totaling 28 touches for 147 yards and one touchdown.
The Cowboys improved to 4-3 with the win on Sunday night, while the Eagles dropped to 3-4.
Dallas and Philadelphia are set to meet again later this season. We'll see if Pederson makes another "guarantee."
