Earlier this year, Antonio Williams, a top recruit in the 2016 class, announced on Twitter that he decided to transfer from Ohio State. In the announcement, he revealed he'd be heading to the ACC.

The 5-foot-11 running back transferred to North Carolina. He's a New London, North Carolina native.

Three months later, Williams and the Tar Heels received some good news. The former Buckeye will be immediately eligible for the 2018 season.

Williams announced the news via his Twitter page.

Williams was the No. 7 running back in the country coming out of high school in 2016. He was ranked the No. 169 overall recruit by 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

The running back totaled 210 yards and 3 touchdowns last season. He had 34 carries.

Ohio State returns two starters from the 2017 season in J.K. Dobbins and Mike Weber. Williams will have a much better opportunity at seeing the field while in Chapel Hill.
