A former New England Patriots tight end has made a bold prediction for Rob Gronkowski ahead of the 2019 NFL regular season.

Gronkowski, of course, retired following the Patriots' Super Bowl win over the Los Angeles Rams. The star tight end is only 30 years old, though, and many expect him to come back at some point.

A former New England tight end thinks that return is coming soon.

Former Patriots tight end Jermaine Wiggins told TMZ Sports that he is "97 percent sure" that Gronkowski will be back in 2019.

“You heard it here first, he’s going to be back this year!” Wiggins said. “He loves the limelight, and what better way to keep continue to build the Gronk brand by being out on the field? … He’s still got plenty of gas left in the tank. He’ll be back. I’m telling you.”

Would anyone really be surprised if Gronkowski is back with the Patriots in November or December?

The answer is no.

New England is set to open its 2019 regular season on Sunday, Sept. 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
