A body found in a Lee County, Mississippi lake on Monday has reportedly been identified as a former SEC football player. He was 27 years old.

Philemon Jones, a former Bulldogs football player, has reportedly been found dead. The Coroner's Office announced the tragic news on Wednesday afternoon.

There were reportedly no signs of foul play at the lake. Jones' body was reportedly found with clothes on, according to officers.

Jones played for Mississippi State from 2011-14. He reportedly went missing earlier this month.

Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green reportedly identified Jones' body this week. Fingerprints were reportedly used to identify him.

Jones played for Mississippi State for four seasons. He started in 27 career games and played in 45. Jones' career highlight came in 2014, when he was the team's defensive player of the week in a win over No. 8 LSU.

Our thoughts are with Jones' friends and family. May he rest in peace.
