Tim Tebow remains a long shot to make the Jacksonville Jaguars final roster, but the former quarterback turned tight is impressing his teammates with his work ethic.
Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew appeared on Chris Long’s podcast last week. The personable quarterback revealed his early impressions of Tebow in Jacksonville.
“We haven’t been in pads yet, so kind figure that out more in camp,” Minshew said on Green Light with Chris Long. “But, I mean, he’s attacking special-teams drills. He’s attacking every drill. He’s running drill to drill. Everything is high energy with him. If he messes something up, you see some guys can shake. It affects him. He doesn’t like it. He wants to get it right. He’s going to go to the side, get a couple reps, get it right and come back in. And he’s just a guy that genuinely wants it, man. It’s awesome to see.”
Tebow, who signed a one-year deal with the Jaguars this offseason, is attempting to make the team as a tight end.
Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence spoke to The Spun earlier this year about his reaction to the signing.
“It’s just crazy. Imagine if you told me that when I was probably 10 or 11 years old watching Tim Tebow play at Florida – honestly, I have to check those years [laughing.] It’s wild and weird how things work out, but I’m really excited to play with him and have a guy like that around. He’s a hard worker, a great character and what he brings to a locker room is special. People just want to be around him. I’m excited for him to be here and I know a lot of the other guys are too. It’s going to be fun,” he said.
The Jaguars are set to begin training camp later this week.
