Video of a high school football team’s heartbreaking mistake is going viral on social media on Saturday morning.
A high school football game in Arkansas ended with a game-winning field goal, but it shouldn’t have. Fayetteville made a brutal mistake to finish the game that allowed Little Rock Central to get a last-second win.
Fayetteville had the ball, leading Little Rock Central by one point, 35-34. Instead of punting the ball deep or running around until the clock hit zero, Fayetteville chose to kneel the ball. Unfortunately, time was still on the clock when they did.
“Oh no,” the announcers can be heard saying.
Fayetteville kneeled the ball deep inside their own territory with time remaining on the clock. This allowed for Little Rock Central to line up for a game-winning field goal.
They drilled it, winning 37-35.
“Absolutely brutal way to lose a game Fayetteville accidentally takes a knee on 4th down with 2 seconds left and Central kicks the game-winning FG to win it. Tough way to go down,” SBLive Arkansas tweeted.

Losses don’t get much more heartbreaking than that one.
Hopefully the college football and NFL world can avoid mistakes like that this weekend.
