Sayon was co-captain on the Lynnwood Royals football team alongside Ryan Truong, who was found dead on Monday.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner determined Truong died from natural causes, though further tests are required. According to authorities, no foul play is suspected.

Head football coach Keauntea Banhead spoke with Komo News about his player's deaths. "It's like a double blow. Losing one, and then find out, and you lost the next one. And those guys were both my captains."

As a way to honor the player's memory, neither of their jerseys will be worn during the 2018-19 season.
