In somewhat of a surprising development, the New England Patriots have placed Tom Brady on the injury report heading into Week 3. The six-time champion is nursing an injury that affected his availability in practice on Wednesday.

New England has dominated its opponents through the first two weeks, steamrolling past Pittsburgh and Miami. It's likely that the defending champions will defeat the New York Jets this weekend as well.

Although the Patriots will be heavy favorites against the Jets on Sunday, it's possible that Brady's injury could play a factor.

The Patriots' injury report on Wednesday revealed that Brady was limited in practice due to a calf injury.

This isn't the first time that Brady has been listed as limited in practice before. Over the years, the Patriots have lightened his load during practice to keep him fresh.

Brady has looked fantastic for New England through the first two weeks, throwing for 605 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions.

Despite the recent news of Brady being limited in practice on Wednesday, the Patriots should be just fine this weekend. As for the Jets, they could be without Sam Darnold, C.J. Mosley and Quinnen Williams for this divisional matchup.

Unless Brady doesn't practice the rest of this week, the future Hall of Famer should be ready to play this Sunday.
