The Browns reportedly offered Clowney a two-year, $24 million contract in March. But, similar to last season, it appears the three-time Pro Bowler is prepared to wait.
Grossi's comments got some reaction from the Dawg Pound on Twitter.
"ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi expects free agent JadeveonClowney to re-sign with the Browns," one user tweeted.
"It’s a great day to [re-sign] Jadeveon Clowney," a Browns fan said.
"JadeveonClowney expected to re-sign with [Browns]," NBC Sports EDGE shared, utilizing Grossi's tweet.
"Trending: Browns are now the most expected team to sign FA DE JadeveonClowney," said another account.
Clowney tallied nine sacks in Cleveland last season; while also being stout against the run. The former Houston Texan finished the year with 37 tackles, 19 QB hits and a pair of forced fumbles.
