Jimmy Butler doesn’t want to be in Minnesota. The Timberwolves star made it known he wants to be traded from the organization ahead of the 2018-19 season.
However, just a week before the season begins, Butler remains a part of the team – for now. The team, including Jimmy Butler, practiced on Wednesday and it didn’t go well.
On Wednesday afternoon, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Butler began “verbally challenging” his teammates and coaches during the practice. He then took it a step further.
According to Woj, Butler snapped at GM Scott Layden saying the team needs him. “You [bleeping] need me. You can’t win without me,” Butler allegedly said in practice.
At one point in a scrimmage, sources said, Butler turned to GM Scott Layden and screamed, "You (bleeping) need me. You can't win without me." Butler left teammates and coaches largely speechless. He dominated the gym in every way. Jimmy's back.

It’s an interesting statement from a player who reportedly wants to be traded. The Miami Heat are reportedly interested in acquiring Butler’s talents, though trade talks have stalled over the past two weeks.
It will be interesting to see how the Butler-Minnesota saga plays out as the season kicks off in a week.
