The Houston Texans got another big win today, as the AFC South franchise topped the Oakland Raiders, though the franchise suffered a major loss in the process. JJ Watt has sustained a serious injury.

Unfortunately, the earlier report from NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport has been proven correct. Watt will miss the season.

Watt announced on Twitter that he's suffered an injury that won't allow him to return this year.

"This game can be beautiful and it can also be brutal. Absolutely gutted that I won’t be able to finish the season with my guys and give the fans what they deserve. I truly love this game and can’t stand letting you guys down. Thank you for all of the thoughts & well-wishes," he wrote.

Rapoport had reported earlier in the evening that the Texans feared Watt would miss the season with a torn pectoral injury.

It looks like the injury happened on this play:

Watt has dealt with multiple injuries in recent years and this one is the latest devastating blow, especially considering how good Houston has looked recently.

The Texans (5-3) will play at Jacksonville next weekend.
