Johnny Manziel's football comeback is official - he made his debut for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday night. His first preseason game in the Canadian Football League is in the books.

After signing with the Tiger-Cats earlier this month, it was made clear that Manziel was not going to be the starting heading into the 2018 season. That held true on Friday night as another former college star took the field ahead of Manziel.

Jeremiah Masoli, formerly of Oregon and Ole Miss, got the start.

Manziel relieved Masoli, and saw 23 plays during his first CFL game. Here's how he did.

  • 9-of-11 passing for 80 yards through the air
  • Two rushes for 10 yards

It's not a bad start to the season for Manziel, who was more accurate and showed more mobility than Masoli.

Check out every snap of Manziel's performance.

The Tiger-Cats' regular season kicks off on Saturday, June 16. Can Johnny Football take over the starting job over the course of the 2018 season?

Stay tuned.
