Tonight's UFC welterweight fight between Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren was expected to be a pretty competitive one. That...did not wind up being the case.

The two faced off during UFC 239 minutes ago. The fight lasted all of five seconds.

Right out of the gate, Masvidal lunged with a big flying knee, connecting directly with Askren. That was all he needed.

He followed up with a few big punches on the ground, but Askren was already out.

According to NBC Sports, that five second knockout by Jorge Masvidal is a UFC record.

He celebrated pretty appropriately: with a bit of dancing.

The 34-year old Masvidal has now matched his age with number of wins. He's 34-13 overall with this win, and has won both of his fights in 2019. 15 of his now-34 wins have come by knockout, but none was quite as stunning as tonight's. Back in March, he knocked out Darren Till.

To add to the embarrassment of being on the wrong side of a quick beatdown like that, this was Askren's first mixed martial arts loss of his career.

The Iowa native was 19-0 entering tonight. He submitted Robbie Lawler in March, and had won his last two fights in the first round.

With the win, some think Masvidal may be lining himself up for a title fight against Kamaru Usman.
