Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen took a devastating hit in this afternoon's game against the New England Patriots and had to leave the game.

Allen, scrambling on a 3rd and 8 inside the Patriots' territory, got rocked by a couple of defenders and hit the turf hard.

The Bills' second-year quarterback was down on the field for a couple of minutes, getting checked out by trainers. He was eventually able to sit up and ran off the field on his own.

Allen is now out of the game and getting looked at in the medical tent, presumably for a potential concussion or head injury.

That certainly does not look good, but it was nice to see Allen be able to leave the field on his own.

The Bills brought in Matt Barkley to replace Allen at quarterback. He quickly made a nice throw down field to get into the red zone.

Buffalo is trailing New England, 16-10, at the start of the fourth quarter. The game is on CBS.
