Earlier this week, Kevin Love signed an extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Love's extension will pay him $120 million over four years - which puts his contract total at five years, $145 million.

Following LeBron James' exit from Cleveland, many expected the Cavs to trade Love and embrace the tank. However, after signing Love to a hefty contract, Cleveland seems happy to ride with Love and rookie Collin Sexton as the team moves on from LeBron's departure.

There was a point during the 2017-18 season in which the Cavaliers received calls about a Kevin Love trade. According to a report from Sean Deveney of Sporting News, three NBA teams called about a potential trade involving Kevin Love.

All three teams were rebuffed.

Throughout the season, especially as Cleveland struggled with the veteran group it originally put together, teams would call the Cavs with one player especially targeted: All-Star forward Kevin Love. Each time, the inquiring team — among them, according to sources, were Miami, Charlotte and Portland — was given a polite "No, thanks."

The Cavaliers were in disarray during the midpoint of the season, but didn't bite on a potential Love trade. He's now locked in for five more years with the team.

Cleveland enters the 2018-19 season without the face of the franchise that led the team to four-straight NBA Finals. Can the Cavaliers find success with Kevin Love as the team's best player?
