On Thursday night, the Golden State Warriors saw their run of NBA championships end with the Toronto Raptors escaping Game 6 with a 114-110 win.
With the loss, Golden State's dream of a third-straight title came to a devastating end after a flurry of injuries.
Just days after losing Kevin Durant to a ruptured Achilles tendon, the injuries woes somehow got worse for Golden State.
Klay Thompson suffered a torn ACL after a hard foul by Danny Green in the third quarter of Game 6.
After the game, Klay Thompson's day, Mychal, revealed that Durant called Thompson to see how he was doing.
Here's what the two talked about, via ESPN:
"I heard them talking. But I don't think they'd want me to divulge it. They were encouraging each other to come back strong. They got unfinished business."
Both Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson will miss a significant portion of the 2019-20 season. KD could miss the entire season as a result of his torn Achilles.
Despite their injuries, ESPN's Brian Windhorst suggested the Warriors plan to issue max offers to both players.
Thompson will likely re-sign with the team, but KD's potential options remain open. He could choose to sign with the Warriors or take his talents to the Los Angeles Clippers or New York Knicks.
