Update: Despite previous reports from ESPN, a New York Giants insider is now reporting that Landon Collins has not cleaned out his locker. Stay tuned.

"Attention those who care about the New York Giants: Landon Collins HAS NOT cleaned out his locker at the team facility. Repeat: Landon Collins HAS NOT cleaned out his locker at the team facility. Go about your business and have a nice day," he reports.

Earlier: A New York Giants star appears to be on his way out of the franchise, according to the latest reports. He's cleaned out his locker and said goodbye to his teammates. Giants' star defensive back Landon Collins, a three-time Pro Bowler, has reportedly cleaned out his locker and said goodbye to his teammates. "I’m told that Giants S Landon Collins cleaned out his locker today at the team facility and said his goodbyes to teammates, coaches and trainers. It doesn’t seem like Collins expects to be a Giant for much longer, per sources," ESPN NFL insider Josina Anderson reports.

Collins had said at the end of the regular season that he hoped to continue his playing career with the Giants. That appears to have changed.

New York's star defensive back had been the subject of some trade rumors.

The New York Post had more:

The Giants have been weighing applying the franchise tag — which would bring him back for about $11.25 million — on the safety, who was the subject of trade rumors at last season’s deadline. The 25-year-old would be in high demand if the Giants let him walk, though that possibility would be far-fetched, even if they were not ready to commit to a long-term deal with Collins.

Collins had a season-ending surgery at the end of 2018. He has been one of the best defensive backs in the league over the past couple of seasons.

Stay tuned.
