You might not like LaVar Ball, but you can’t argue with the results right now.
The patriarch of the Ball family has been one of the loudest parents in basketball history, constantly boasting about the future success of his three sons.
While LaVar Ball was often mocked, we’ve now reached a world where:
- His oldest son, Lonzo Ball, has agreed to a four-year, $85 million free agency contract with the Chicago Bulls
- His youngest son, LaMelo Ball, is coming off a Rookie of the Year season in Charlotte
- His middle son, LiAngelo Ball, has agreed to an NBA Summer League roster spot
Naturally, LaVar Ball is now trending on social media, with many people admitting that he deserves some credit for raising three successful basketball players.
All the slander LaVar Ball got…. now has one son making $85 million for the team Jordan built, and the other son winning rookie of the year on the team Jordan owns.

Of course, fans are making jokes, too. Most notably: fans can’t wait to hear the Lonzo Ball vs. Michael Jordan comparisons now that his son is playing in Chicago.
I can’t wait for Lavar Ball to say “Michael Jordan never did that here!” every time Lonzo does something in Chicago

We haven’t heard much from LaVar Ball recently, but perhaps that’s intentional. Maybe LaVar Ball is finally letting his sons’ play do all of the talking.
