For the first time since the 2004-05 season, LeBron James won't be playing in the NBA Playoffs. His first season in Los Angeles did not go as expected.

The Lakers' streak of postseason-less campaigns is now at six and counting. They are one loss away from a sixth-straight losing season as well.

Still, James is promising Laker fans that they will get things right, even if it might not be until next year. He posted a message to Laker Nation on Instagram this afternoon.

"Believe me! Promise #LakerNation the spell won't last much longer! I swear! The marathon continues," he wrote.

This summer will be a key one for James and the Lakers. He's getting older, and the team needs to add talent quickly if it wants to compete for titles with James on the roster.

Expect the Lakers to be very active in free agency and potentially on the trade market. Also, as a lottery team, they'll have an opportunity to potentially land high-end talent in the draft as well.

LeBron isn't going to want to repeat this year again.
