On Thursday morning's edition of First Take, Stephen A. Smith reported that LeBron James inquired about another NBA star joining him in Los Angeles. According to Stephen A., LeBron texted Kevin Durant to unite forces with the Lakers.

After losing to KD and the Warriors in back-to-back NBA Finals, it's hard to conceive that the best player in the world would text the man who just beat him to join forces. Although, that's Durant did in the first place after joining the Warriors.

Of course, LeBron is a different person with a different mindset. But would he call another superstar (especially one that just beat him) to join forces?

According to Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com, LeBron did not place a call, or text, to KD.

And yet, we've seen the two stars sitting side-by-side before. The two NBA stars filmed a segment with Cari Champion for UNINTERRUPTED.

Could this be LeBron's camp denying that the league's best player asked for the help of the man who just beat him in the Finals and took home back-to-back Finals MVP trophies?

Perhaps. Regardless, LeBron's free agency decision looms, and rumors will be swirling around the Cavs star until he selects a location.
